How do I repaint a chest of drawers that have a laquered finish?
I want to paint 2 chest of drawers that I purchased last year. They are now blue and I want to paint them white. They are made of malamine type wood, and appear to have a light laquer finish. How do I prepare the surface to acheive a good finish and what paint should I use? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

- Usean all purpose stripper, then sand and paint.
- Lightly sand with a fine grain sandpaper. I reciently repainted my dresser and that's what I had to do.
- 1 sand with 120 grit or lighter. 2 remove all dust and wipe with denatured alcohol. 3 paint in light coats, (recommend spray if possible, even cans work if applied lightly) 4 when dry, sand with 220 grit or lighter, wipe with tacky cloth to remove paint dust. repeat 3 and 4 until desired finish.
- Try sanding off the finish. Then wipe off the excess dust and start painting.
