Chest of Drawers

How do I remove my bedroom dresser drawers?

I bought a very large, heavy expensive dresser last year and am moving now. I want to remove the drawers to make it lighter to move. In all other cheap dressers I bought in the past you pull them out until it stops, then lift it up or tip it at an angle to get it out. With this dresser, I pull the drawer out until it stops and it doesn't tip or lift out in any direction. I tried to feel for a latch in the back but I can't get my hands back there very easily. Is there some common tricks I should try?

  1. Some are actually made so that the drawers cannot come out for some odd reason.
  2. get some body builder dudes to help you move
  3. Take out all ur stuff then maybe it will be lighter
  4. There is sometimes a catch in the drawer track that you have to push down, flush with the grooved track to allow the wheeled drawer to continue to slide out.
  5. Trick? If the runner is on top...look for a latch on the runner.
  6. If the drawers are on slides on the sides of the drawers, look at them closely. Some of them have places you can press in to make them come loose from their tracks. Also, some tracks are made with a the "lift point" not all the way out, but almost all the way, and you lift the whole drawer, not just tilt the front up.
  7. try taking the clothes out of the draw, then taking the the draw out, then put ur clothes in something else, then caring the heavy the heavy draws to whatever you r traveling in.. u r welcome!!!!!!!!!11
