Chest of Drawers

How to remove drawers from chest of drawers?

I have a chest of drawers that I bought from Harvey's. It's the Prague range (4 + 2 drawer chest). Some of the drawers are now broken and I want to repair them but don't seem able to remove the drawers. When I bought them, they arrived fully assembled so was wondering if they can be removed and if so, how??

  1. usually all you need to do is: Pull drawers out as far as they will go, Holding each side, lift slightly and then pull forward again. If this does not work suspect you will need a screwdriver to undo a couple of screws on the inside of each side of the drawer. Don't forget to empty them first !
  2. call 0844 372 1000 and select option 2. I don't know if this is the right extension but it will get you to the store.
  3. if you can turn the unit upside down or partially open the draws try rubbing the draw track with a candle or a wax furniture product then gently ease them back and forth putting more wax etc if required if this does not work its brute force or dismantle it
  4. Afraid I don't know how to get them out, but once you have, to ease them so they don't stick, rub a bar of damp soap over the runners, and run in and out a few times! It really works!
